Los Angeles mag has chronicled life through in-depth journalism and thought-provoking lifestyle since the magazine’s founding 1961.

But it’s the 21st century, and the dominant form of media is consumed through mobile screens. As an intern for the magazine in 2017, I noticed the magazine was under-utilizing its vast following across social platforms—audiences of 140K on Instagram and 409k on Twitter.

In between assisting the L.A. Woman photoshoot, photographing ramen and udon at various restaurants for the print magazine, and shadowing the Design Director, I created the first cover GIF for the magazine. After contributing to the successful launch of the Best of L.A. issue and completing my internship, I continued creating digital content for the magazine’s social channels.

LOS ANGELES MAGAZINE FEATURES

L.A. Woman 2017

For the first time ever, Los Angeles gave the honor of “LA Woman” to 11 women—as opposed to just one. These 11 women are advocates, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers whose work spans from entertainment law to fashion to affordable housing, and are using their respective positions to make L.A. a better place.
